What determines the cost of a custom iron door?
Every ASKCL door is fabricated to one exact opening — yours — so there is no price list to read off. Size, design complexity, glass package, finish, thermal break, and installation conditions decide what your project takes to build. We measure on site for free and give you one written number covering door, glass, hardware, finish, delivery, and installation. No separate trip charge, and the number is firm for the scope quoted.
What drives your investment up or down?
Size of the opening
A single door is a far smaller build than a wide double with sidelights and a transom. Square footage of iron and glass is the single biggest factor in your investment.
Design complexity
Clean flat-panel and grid designs use less labor than hand-scrolled ornamental work. Two doors of the same size can differ meaningfully based on the pattern alone.
Glass package
Clear low-E insulated glass is standard. Textured, seeded, or tinted glass and true operable vents add to the build but also add privacy and airflow.
Finish
Standard satin black is included. Multi-tone, bronze rub, and custom color finishes take extra passes in the shop.
Thermal break
A thermally-broken frame reduces condensation and heat transfer. It is worth it on west- and south-facing Texas entries and does add to the build.
Installation conditions
A straight swap in an existing opening is quick. Widening masonry, re-framing, or working around finished stone adds labor.
